artist statement
A love for beauty, balance and peace are my inspiration! The strength that has guided my hand, apart from the skills acquired over the years, is an aspect of my job that amuses me still to this day. Maybe it's what I look for, what I reach for when I can't complete a piece. I'll wait for it to "speak" to me and show me the way ( il quadro suggerisce la risposta). the moment when expectation, tension and soul all live together and leave me breathless!
For me the enjoyment of the creative process is feeling the rhythm of one's breathing, hearing the sound of the pencil on paper and seeing each stroke take shape as much as if not more than the end result. My slide over several shapes giving form to a perfect image that will live in memory! Forever.
Old and new coexists in each art piece, when finding the unknown in what is familiar or observing from a new angle thus creating something different, something new. Is familiar what surrounds us? Is it what we've heard people talk about? Or could it be what we were meant for and we have the fortune to see? A deja vu? Is it possible to paint a state of mind and that feeling of time flowing in front of one's self?
To some confusing but truly simple coexisting of several feelings, thoughts and part of what I define an ordinary day in the heart and mind of an artist.
All of this and more have made me the artist I am today.
